"I’m Dr. Monique Barber, a licensed professional counselor, counselor educator, and the founder of Ever Forward Counseling x Neurofeedback. I have an unapologetic Christian worldview, which is the foundation of my deep commitment to clinical excellence, ethical care, and lifelong growth personally and professionally.
I have experience working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, addiction, and relational stress. I bring both academic scholarship and lived compassion to my practice, and I approach therapy with warmth, professionalism, and a desire to walk alongside people as they move forward.
I completed my Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision at Liberty University and hold national certifications in counseling and telemental health. In 2024, I was honored to be named Counselor Educator of the Year by the Idaho Counseling Association, and I continue to serve the profession through advocacy, mentorship, and education. I am adjunct faculty at Northwest Nazarene University and Liberty University.
In therapy, I value collaboration, clarity, and care. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with creativity, multicultural responsiveness, and, when invited, spiritual integration. Whether you’re coming to therapy for the first time or returning with new goals, my aim is to create a space that is safe, purposeful, and effective.
When I’m not in the office, I’m likely spending time with my family, watching British mystery shows, or drinking strong coffee while dreaming up new ways to support and strengthen the counseling profession.
You’re welcome here just as you are. And if you’re ready to take a next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Ever forward."
